From competitive play to building camaraderie, Silver Spruce has a variety of tournaments to test your skills on the course. Here is the tournament schedule for 2010.
SCHEDULED TOURNAMENTS
April 10 & 11
MASTERS 2-Day Pick-A-Pro Tournament
All participants will be randomly paired with a PGA Pro who has made the cut at the first major of the year, the Masters. Each participant will add (or subtract) the PGA Pro’s score from their own personal score to determine a team score. This tournament is open to everyone.
April 30
Wounded Warrior Tournament
(Information to come on this tournament.)
May 15
3-Format – 2-Person Tournament
Two-person teams will play 18 holes with a rotating six-hole format to be determined prior to start of play. Six holes will be played as a best ball, six holes will be played as a select shot, and six holes will be played as alternate shot. This tournament is open to everyone.
May 21
Guardian Challenge
(This event is not open to everyone.)
June 19
4-Person Scramble
Everyone’s favorite four-person scramble format is back, but with a possible twist this year.
July 17
Individual Stroke Play – Flighted
Take advantage of that handicap in this flighted, stroke play event. Breakdown of flights will be determined by number of entrants. This tournament is open to everyone.
Fridays in July – 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
On Friday evenings in July and August, we will provide various formats for couples to come out and enjoy the course, socializing and each other. Start times will be determined by the number of participants. This event is open to all couples.
August 7
Blind Partner Tournament
Everyone will be randomly paired with another participant to make a two-person team for this event. Play your best … or hope to get paired with the best! This tournament is open to everyone.
August 28 & 29
Silver Spruce Club Championship
Claim your spot as the 2010 Club Champion! This will be an individual, flighted, 36-hole contest to determine the top dog in each flight. Flight breakdown will be determined by the number of participants. Mark the date on your calendar and be sure to sharpen your skills. This tournament is open to everyone.
Fridays in August – 6, 13, 20, 27
On Friday evenings in July and August, we will provide various formats for couples to come out and enjoy the course, socializing and each other. Start times will be determined by the number of participants. This event is open to all couples.
September 11
Night Golf Tournament
Break out all of the glowing or brightest golf balls you can find and join us for a night of fun. Don’t forget your flashlights! This tournament is open to everyone.
And remember, the Silver Spruce Golf Association (SSGA) will also hold several events throughout the seasojn. Please sign up with the SSGA and participate in those events as well.
